Recently we’ve made some big changes to Evan’s room. Excited to share them with you!
Below are three photos of Evan’s room BEFORE we did anything. (except carpets were ripped out, but that’s it!) It was a mess!
Then in early 2015, we painted it yellow and added a few finishing touches – flooring & curtains. Here are those BEFORE pics:
Side note: Yes, the ceiling is PINK – that’s the way it came.
And now, here are all of the AFTER photos! We painted the walls with Behr Marquee – a one coat guarantee paint. Unfortunately though, the walls did need two coats. Behr has a money back guarantee, but I did not choose to pursue it. I am still a fan of their paint, and I’ve witnessed its one coat success in our guest bedroom. Evan’s room was painted at night, which was our mistake. ALWAYS paint in the daylight! Just a tip, after painting 5+ rooms so far. Glenn finished installing and trimming out the windows, which made a BIG difference.
This cute little clock was a gift from my childhood best friend, Jordan. I have had it hanging up since he was born!
Absolutely love this sound machine! It’s the MyBaby Soundspa Lullaby Machine and the website to buy one is Homedics. Looks like they’ve changed the look a bit, but it has the same features. We use ours at bedtime for sound and light because there is a really neat light projector that comes with different discs (animals, night scenes, and more). There’s also a timer! Love this option. It’s great for naptime music too.
This elephant is great for its star projection on the ceiling. It lights up almost all of Evan’s ceiling!
This dresser is from IKEA, and it’s so incredibly convenient. Not only does it have a million drawers, but it’s also our changing table.
The cute dotted minky blanket is from one of our favorite gender neutral apparal & nursery shops – Tenth & Pine.
These cord covers are amazing! They work so well and are so easy for covering up and controlling wild cords.
The black fan in background is a Holmes air purifier, that we LOVE. It not only works as a fan for noise, but it’s cleaning the air at the same time.
We ended up switching out the rug from IKEA, for this cute black & white one from H&M. After the sale they had (plus shipping), it was only $30! (orig. $34.99). Rug can be found here. I should also mention it has a slip resistant backing, so no need to buy a rug pad.
Overall, I’m thrilled with the turnout in Evan’s room, and he seems to like it too! He has easy access to books, toys, and his stuffed animals. It’s a welcomed change compared to the past few paint colors. Thanks for reading!
I’ll be back with a detailed post of where to purchase everything!
